Glass as a Structural Device: Foldaway Glass Room Divider

It’s no secret that the best way to get the most from your home interior is to maximise light. By providing a stylish translucent partition that slides away when not needed, Kettle Design’s glass screens are an inspired design solution for room partitions.

In this example from a project in Formby, a durable glass screen is used to divide the kitchen from the snug when necessary. Aesthetic interest is added to the design through the use of patterned glass. Translucent swirls create a stylish effect of fluidity whilst the selective use of tiny air bubbles add texture and sparkle to the overall finish with a subtle glisten. When the client wishes to use the kitchen as one large room again the screen slides away effortlessly, creating a ‘two-rooms-in-one’ effect.

As with all bespoke Kettle Design creations, the glass screen room divider is a highly versatile design, and can be used in a multitude of different environments to achieve different design solutions.
