Luxury Lancashire Residence

We have recently been shortlisted as finalists for the Northern Design Awards under the category of interior designer of the year. As this is the third year in a row that we are finalists in this competition, we think that it is important to share some more information about the project with you. The interior design project that led to this nomination was our recent Lancashire Residence renovation. This was a new build where the client was open-minded about how they wanted the final design to look. This allowed us the freedom to come up with some really creative ideas and have a truly unique design.

Our challenge began before the house was even created. We worked with the architects to create a contemporary building with excellent detail in the external stonework. After working closely with the client, we were able to suggest changes to the floor plan that would allow us to really bring out their aspirations on how they like to live.

Ground Floor

We wanted the entrance hall to look spectacular. We made suggestions to remove part of the landing to increase the height around the staircase. Mood lighting was also installed in this area which looks spectacular at night.

A fine balancing act was required downstairs as a large office area with plenty of storage space was required, alongside a fabulous kitchen to feed their passion for cooking. Separate dining and lounge areas were also created on the ground floor of their interior design project.

First Floor

As part of the interior design project, changes were made to the floor lay out of the master suite to cater for the clients’ storage requirements to create a larger dressing room. To do this, one of the guest rooms was redesigned to allow for a second dressing room. The bed was positioned in front of the large apex window to create a sense of drama as you enter the room. Storage space was then created behind the bed, along with an impressive entrance to the en suite bathroom.

For the bathroom, the client requested a “a luxurious and serene space, not to be bland or colourless. A separate w.c, a free standing bath and a chandelier”. To do this, one of the dressing rooms was added to the bathroom space and the ceiling was raised. The bath was designed to create the effect of a water splash. This was created by using CAD technology to create the intricate pattern in the marble floor to create a truly bespoke detail.

Basement

This area was completely redesigned for the purpose of having extravagant parties. A multifunctional space was created that included a bar, dance floor, pool table and even a cinema. The lighting system was linked to the music system, so the colours automatically changed with the mood of the music.

A luxury spa area was included where the clients could relax, with a dark but reflective theme.
